Ordinary Tutoring is Just a Bandage

Don’t confuse private tutoring with The Learning Space! We are a cognitive based learning centre that helps each child develop a commitment to personal and academic growth through customized programs designed by academic professionals. Ordinary tutoring is just a bandage. We provide students with the tools they need beyond school, including thinking clearly, goal setting, problem solving, concentration, comprehension, communication and social skills. The Learning Space provides a safe and comfortable learning environment where our teachers motivate students to build confidence and improve self-esteem resulting in enhanced learning and better grades.

We carry different programs for children ages 3 to grade 12.  Our Smarty Pints Kindergarten Program was created to compliment Ontario’s play-based learning and is targeted to children currently attending full-day kindergarten.  The Skill Builders Tutoring Program (Grade 1 to 8), The High School Tutoring Program (Grade 9 to 12), and our new eLearning Space Online Tutoring Program (ages 8 to Grade 12) all begin after school. We make every attempt to match students and their tutors together based on age, grade, availability, and subject.

Over the summer months we run an exciting preschool program and a STEM inspired summer camp.

Generally the setup of group tutoring in our centres are a 2:1 to 3:1 ratio which works best for us.  The exception is our online program which is 1:1.  The group setup in our centres allows students to interact and participate in discussions with other children. They are able to elaborate their learning which is an effective strategy to help them learn and retain information.
